Today I would like to tell you a bit about the city I come from. The thing is, I’m living in Australia for nearly a year now and I enjoy it a lot, but the thoughts of home refuse to leave my head. I guess it’s only natural to feel homesick when you travel to a far away place for the first time in your life. Anyway, I’ve decided to share with you some nice photos of my city and maybe tell a few interesting facts about it.
My city is called Novosibirsk. It’s situated in Siberia, where, as many people presume, there is nothing but snow and bears walking along the lonely streets :). That’s not quite true. Novosibirsk is Russia’ third biggest city and one of the most beautiful ones. It’s all one big controversy: tall modern buildings are opposed by “hrushevkas” built during Soviet times, beautiful theatres and fancy clubs compete with popular dodgy places, where it’s not always safe to go, tided-up parks can suddenly turn into wild forests. There is that unexplainable sense of romantics and history, which is nearly palpable in a fresh evening air. Novosibirsk always has something to offer you, something to satisfy your thirst for fun and adventure. If you ever have a chance to visit this wonderful place, please do – you won’t regret it.
